About Me

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in aiding women grappling with depression, PTSD, and grief, I bring a depth of expertise and empathy to each session. My training as an EMDR Certified Therapist, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia clinician, specialized training in perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, and Certified Grief Recovery Specialist certification uniquely positions me to address a wide range of emotional and psychological challenges. I have a particular passion for working with women who are struggling with complex PTSD, relationship and attachment issues, trauma, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, and the nuanced areas of religious trauma and spiritual abuse. My approach is holistic and tailored to each individual, recognizing the intricate interplay of emotional, psychological, and spiritual factors in healing. Online and Office Based Counseling

I am authorized to provide both online and office-based counseling services to individuals located in the state of Oklahoma. Additionally, my license extends to offering online counseling for those located in the state of Maryland. This flexibility in service delivery allows for a range of benefits, especially with online counseling. It offers greater convenience and accessibility for clients, eliminating the need for travel and making it easier to fit sessions into busy schedules. Online counseling also provides a comfortable and familiar environment for clients, as they can engage in therapy from the privacy of their own homes. This mode of therapy is particularly beneficial for individuals who may have mobility challenges or live in areas with limited access to mental health services. The use of secure and confidential online platforms ensures privacy and safety, making it a viable and effective option for those seeking mental health support.

My Experience

My professional journey in the mental health field is diverse and rich, encompassing various roles that have honed my expertise and compassion in the field. I have significant experience in child welfare, where I focused on safeguarding and advocating for the well-being of children in challenging circumstances. My skills further expanded in nursing, social work, and case management within an emergency department setting, where I provided critical support and guidance in high-pressure situations. My experience also includes working in an employee assistance program, offering counseling and resources to employees facing personal and professional challenges. Additionally, I have worked in intensive outpatient programs and inpatient psychiatric hospital settings, dealing with a wide range of mental health issues. In 2016, I leveraged this extensive background to open my private practice, applying my accumulated knowledge and experience to offer personalized and effective care to my clients.

E.M.D.R. Therapy

EMDR is a proven and powerful therapy technique designed to help individuals heal from distressing life experiences, including trauma, phobias, anxiety, and other emotional difficulties. During EMDR therapy sessions, I guide you through a structured process that incorporates bilateral stimulation. This stimulation can involve side-to-side eye movements, taps, or sounds, which help stimulate the brain's information processing system.
